The leading/prompt questions that gets asked of why I want to apply for the job, what’s important to me in the next job, etc. These questions prompt me to really think about what is it that I really want and how I will prioritise the offers that come through.
The coaches are very encouraging. That is very helpful when I might have just received “negative feedback” from potential employers or got rejected for a role. If I was on this journey alone, I believe it would be harder to bounce back from such experiences.
I liked that the coaches gave me space to figure things out on my own, yet gave me the security that if I needed to speak to them, they are always just a text or phone call away.
I really enjoyed the program. I always tell the people who feel sorry that I got made redundant that I was assigned two great career coaches who is helping me navigate through the initial few months. They are encouraging and never dismiss my questions, feelings and comments I make during our sessions.
Thank you Paul and Leena. It has been a fantastic experience.

Here are some things I appreciated during the course of our conversations.
- The handbook which was very good for reading outside of sessions, and for referring to during the process of preparing resumes/cover letters. I referred to them quite often until I got the hang of it. I considered it relevant and updated.
- The sessions did not start off immediately with diving into finding work; rather I was given the space to think carefully about my values and intentions. I realised it was helpful to start of idealistically and then work to more realistic scenarios. I believe I'll have less regrets later on.
- I really appreciated the reaction time to my questions and responses ("let's talk tomorrow"?) and the checking up on me when time was flying by really fast.
- Considering a friend said that he felt another career advisor (government-linked) treated him with condescension also made me aware of how I barely felt 'judged' or belittled by your approach.
- I think maybe one thing I could have benefitted from is more thought into what gaps in skills/ knowledge I could fill up if I wanted to make a full-blown career switch. But that is not a major criticism as I was quite motivated to stay within the industry, and I credit you to also helping to keep an eye on food industry/science-related jobs despite the small sizes of the industries I stayed in.
Given the various constraints, I am beyond satisfied with your support.
Thank you!
